SUMMER ACTIVITIES FOR 2008
The Peanut Butter Players
The Peanut Butter Players are Boulder's premiere children's theatre, providing training in singing, dancing and acting for the young, summer day camp, summer theatre and luncheon theatre for the family. Auditions for summer theatre are open to all who are interested, and everyone gets a part! After school classes during the school year and summer day camp train young people in musical theatre performance. (See our Class Schedule page for the benefits of enrolling children in our classes as well as the current class schedule.) The readers and staff of the Boulder Daily Camera consistently rank the Peanut Butter Players as the "Best of Boulder" in kids' entertainment. We won this hnoor again (for the 10th time) in 2007 and were runner-up to the Pearl Street Mall in 2005 and 2006. For the second year in a row we were voted Best Day Camp in Boulder County as well.
Children's Luncheon Theatre
Children's Luncheon Theatre is just like adult dinner theatre, only it's lunch on Saturdays. Performances are designed especially for kids and their families. The Peanut Butter Players provide a special place for young people to start enjoying the magic of the theatre at an early age.
When the audience arrives, they are greeted, seated and served by the Lunch Bunch. Our shows are Broadway quality, designed to appeal to all ages. We also offer Group Discounts for your special events.
The Lunch Bunch
The Lunch Bunch are professional actors whose show biz experience makes people wonder at their age. They range from 7 to 17, but have been onstage since they could walk and sing. They perform at least once a week 6 months out of the year, often adding dance, acting and voice lessons to a full school schedule, after school athletics, band, and, of course, homework. They are also found on the stage of the Arvada Center, the Denver Centre, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Boulder's Dinner Theatre, university productions, and their own school plays.
The Lunch Bunch are selected in auditions twice a year and are paid for their work, just as any other professional actor would be. And they learn to sing, dance and wait tables while performing with the company. Interested applicants should submit a black and white 8"x10" headshot and a complete resume in order to be considered for auditions. The next Lunch Bunch auditions will be in August, 2008, for the fall show. Applications should be on file by August 15, 2008.
